Salt Pan Creek: Heather Goodall and Dennis Foley
Historian, Heather Goodall describes the way Aboriginal people used the whole river systems of Sydney by canoe, from Wollongong right up to Botany Bay. She then takes us on a trip up to Salt Pan Creek, passing shell middens, to the place where Joe Anderson and his family lived from 1910’s until the 1930’s when they were driven out by poverty and gentrification of the area. Uncle Dennis Foley, Gai-Mariagal elder, describes how to cook mangrove snails.
